Picked up a Nitro and it has the serial number sy6g000016. Owner didn't know the year but from pics I've found it looks to be a 96 or 97, with the 6's in the number I'm leaning towards the 96..
Been wondering this myself. I have a chrome VFR I believe that I got recently, and the posts I found on BMXMuseum and so forth didn't really shed light on it. Then again maybe I read the # wrong, so I'll take another look and check back here and maybe compare notes.

Thanks, actually just sold it the other day. Bought a very nice Free Agent Limo to ride at the track with the grandkids. The Dyno was just too heavy for racing. Pokemon heartgold download.
And mine is SC5i008830, which I assume is a made in Taiwan, 1995, September (cause of the i- 9th month), #8830 of that year!
